Education:
Graduate of Northwestern Preparatory School, 1973.
Northwestern College, 1977 (B.A.).
Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary 1981 (M.Div).
Goals and Philosophy:
To glorify God and proclaim the Gospel (John 3:16) by preaching
“Christ crucified” (1 Corinthians 1:23) so that all may have
“fullness of life” (John 10:10) – now and forever.
Vision for the Future:
Our Lord gave His Church its marching orders in the Great
Commission (Matthew 28:20). It is my prayer that we as a
congregation dedicate ourselves to continually carrying out this
dual mission of nurture and outreach, and that every present and
future endeavor be to His glory, honor, and the salvation of
souls.

Goals and Philosophy:
As the outreach/evangelism pastor at St. John’s, the Lord has
given me a unique opportunity. God calls all Christians to be
evangelists, but he has allowed me to devote myself fully to that
important work. The Lord will bless our efforts as a congregation
to reach out to others with the Word. It is my personal goal to be
a faithful steward of the gifts God has given me.
Vision for the Future:
Evangelism begins in the heart. It is only natural for
Christians to want to tell others about the love of Jesus. But
sometimes it is difficult to translate that sincere desire into
action. Through my preaching, teaching and example I hope to
foster a “mission-minded” attitude in the hearts of our
people.
As a shepherd of souls, I also want to encourage people to talk
about their Savior. Christianity is not just a Sunday thing. It is
an every day thing. I want all the members of St. John’s, men
and women, young and old, to think of themselves as evangelists,
each one working in his own personal mission field.

Goals and Philosophy:
The Lord has
called the church to proclaim the gospel “to every nation,
tribe, language and people” (Revelation 14:6). The
Word of God sets us free from any individual person’s ideas. Whether
we speak in English or Chinese, we work together to preach the
true gospel because the gospel is the power of God for the
salvation of everyone who believes.
Vision for the Future:
How can we take the gospel to the world? Today
God brings people from many different nationalities to the
United States
to live as our neighbors. God
has blessed this land with the freedom to share the Gospel. God
has given us the opportunity to share our faith with the new
immigrants who, in turn, can take the gospel back to their
homeland. So in a
sense, we are doing world mission work in our own backyard.

Goals and Philosophy:
Family ministry is an ongoing ministry with the Word as the
central element of the family. The main task is for the
members of the family to build stronger relationships to Christ,
so that discipling becomes a way of life.
Vision for the Future:
Relationships within the family are fully dependent upon the
strength of each member’s personal relationship with
Christ. That relationship, then, is central to the spiritual
growth and well being of the Christian home. In its
relationship with his living Word the Christian family receives
life-giving sustenance, as well as guidance and direction for
living together as a family. In Jesus’ own life and the
Christian family has both their model for life and their
motivation to live a God-pleasing life.
