Upcoming Events: April 17th - 6:30 PM CES Speaker Program "Bullying"
"Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." - Galatians 6:10.
Dear Parents,
Welcome to an exciting school year! The Christian Education Society (CES) looks forward to serving out Lord by fostering a strong Christian relationship among pastors, teachers and families, encouraging the spiritual and physical growth of St. John's Lutheran School and promoting educational programs for St. John's families.
The volunteers on the CES Committee are committed to bringing you and your children events that foster fun, fellowship and learning. We will work hard to create a balance between events for the whole family to enjoy and adult only events so that parents can get to know each other better and learn at the same time. If you have ideas please share them with us, CES listens.
Together we can build in our children and families a sense of "community" at St. John's Lutheran. I encourage you to become an active part of the Christian Education Society by sharing your time and talents through volunteer opportunities and attending the quality events and speakers that will be available throughout the school year. We are looking forward to serving our Savior and growing in Christ as He continues to reveal Himself through the people and events at St. John's Lutheran School.
In His Service,
Jan Kreuser CES Chairperson
CES SPEAKER - Rhoda Wolle "Bullying" What's the difference between bullying and teasing? How prevalent is bullying? Isn't bullying a stage that kids will grow out of? Does bullying between girls look different than bullying between boys? How do I best support my child when (s)he is being picked on? What's the quickest way to stop a bully? What can I do as a parent to promote a climate of love and acceptance at my child's school?
These are a few of the questions that will be addressed at our CES Speaker Night on Thursday, April 17th from 6:30 - 8:00 PM. Our speaker, Rhoda Wolle is from Wisconsin Lutheran Child and Family Service. Rhoda has a background in educating students at risk and will share strategies and answer questions.
Join us in the fellowship hall in the lower level of church and help us to promote a school climate that loves and welcomes all children.
Childcare will not be provided for this event.
