St. John’s 8th Grade Class Trip
Summer Childcare
Registration forms for summer childcare went home with those
families who expressed an interest in summer childcare. If you
did not receive a form and are interested in the summer program,
please see a member of the childcare staff or the school office.
Forms are due back by April 25th.

Drop
off / Pickup
The school parking lot has been, and remains a concern for many
parents and the faculty. After school we need to assure that
parents either park and come in to get their children or pull to
the right side after the stop sign to pick up their children. The
problem is that after school the children line up along that wall.
We will work to keep the children on the sidewalk and we would
like to make sure that you pull beyond the stop sign (as far
forward as possible) and to the right before the children start to
get in/out of the car.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Morning
Matters
Each morning from 7:30 to 7:45AM, the faculty prepares
for the day and participates in daily faculty devotion. Parents
are responsible for the supervision of their children until the
school opens at 7:45AM. Students, who arrive before the 7:45 bell
and are not supervised by their parents, are to enter at the lower
level and go to early morning childcare. The cost of this program
is $.75 per 15 minutes.

Dear Friends in Christ,
Scripture repeatedly reminds us of the blessings God gives His
people. Of all the blessings He has given you, your children may
be your most precious. It is my privilege to work with you to
bring your children up in the understanding and instruction of our
Lord.
It is the hope of St. John's Lutheran School and Church that
together we will (1) build a body of believers that praise God's
holy name and that will (2) share His love and expectations with
the world in which we live. We hope that through our instruction
your child will (3) see what happens in life as part of a design
our Heavenly Father has for each of us. Our school is a major part
of how our congregation intends to accomplish these goals.
Through our school curriculum we teach God the Father's
creation and guidance of our world. We teach Jesus Christ as the
Savior and Redeemer of our world and our children confess the Holy
Spirit, working through the Gospel message, provides the loving
power through which we can do all things for God's glory. Our
curriculum reflects these principles as we teach the subjects of
Religion, Reading, Math, History, Science, the Language Arts and
the Fine Arts. Each of these subjects is presented through the
eyes of Christian teachers and discussed in ways that emphasize
the importance of God's commands. Each of these subjects involves
the participation of students to enhance ownership of these
Christian ideals.
Through our school's extra curricular activities, we teach the
principles of Christian interaction on the athletic field and in
academic competition. We offer opportunities of service learning,
music, art and small group activities to all our students. We work
to involve parents in service to church, school and God through
activities for the children.
As we put into print the ways in which we aim to accomplish
these goals, we want to communicate to you how we hope to share
the responsibility God has given you in the person of your child.
We hope you will grant us that privilege.
In the Service of God,
Scott Uecker, Principal

Childcare is separate from the school with its own director and
staff. While intended to be a mission arm of the congregation, the
Childcare program is planned to be self-sufficient, generating the
income needed to pay its operating expenses.
The
Childcare Room is similar to the classrooms in that it provides
teacher-led activities and is equipped with learning centers and
educational materials. It is a place where our preschoolers can go
after their morning classes or on days when they do not have
class. Parents pay for this service. Our Childcare accepts
children who are at least two and potty-trained, providing another
opportunity to reach out with the Gospel to the unchurched in our
community.
For
more information contact
Leigh Ann Treichel, Director, (414) 258-4214.
The congregation and parents share the cost of
operating St. John's Lutheran School. The cost per student, for
the 2005-06 school year, was approximately $4300, of which 70% was
paid by the congregation. We encourage you to call the school for
the exact costs for your child, as there are several factors that
determine your final cost, including but not limited to: church
membership, number of children, preschool, etc.
