2. We will begin our next school sports season. Volleyball, cross country, and soccer are over; it's time for basketball to start! Click here for a full calendar of all our school sports events.

Three Good Things That Will Happen in October

1. We will celebrate 40 years in the ministry for Pastor Joel Leyrer. Pastor Leyrer has served at St. John's since 1998, and we are blessed to be able to celebrate this milestone with him. Please join us for a celebratory worship service on Sunday, October 3, at 2:00 p.m., with a reception to follow.

2. We will begin our emphasis on "A God-Lived Life." Along with congregations across the WELS, we'll be considering ways in which we can demonstrate what God looks like in how we live our lives. Over the next five months, we'll be talking about various aspects of a God-lived life. Up first: we'll focus on the life of being a disciple in this weekend's services.

3. Two of our popular school events will return! All church and school families are invited to join us from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 24, for Fall Festival featuring trunk or treat. And families with children K2 - 1st grade (and their siblings) are invited to join us from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27, for Bedtime Blessings (click here to register). Hope to see you there!

Two Good Things That Happened in August

1. We began another school year. It was wonderful to see students and faculty back in the building, and we pray for God's richest blessings on this upcoming year!

2. We wrapped up our summer sermon series on "Songs of Scripture." Our summer trip through various Psalms reminded us of a number of themes: restoration, peace, faithfulness, rest, trust, wisdom, and more. These familiar texts provide comfort in the midst of all of life's uncertainties and unite us in faith with fellow believers from centuries past.
