Christmas Canvassing

Saturday, December 10
Help us share the good news of Jesus' birth with neighbors as we hang flyers and knock on doors to invite them to our Christmas services. Three Good Things That Will Happen in December

1. We will officially fill our pastoral vacancy. Please plan to join us on Sunday, December 18, at 3:00 p.m. for the installation of Pastor Joel Schwartz. You're also invited to a fellowship meal after the service (click here to RSVP).

2. We will celebrate the birth of our Savior. Christmas is always a special time of year, and knowing the true reason for the season makes it even more special. We'd love to have you join us for many of our special holiday worship services--click here for a full schedule.

3. We will have the opportunity to invite friends and neighbors to our holiday worship services. On Saturday, December 10, we'll be canvassing neighborhoods around St. John's. If you're available, please come out and help! We'll be meeting at 9:45 a.m. at church.

1. We've been given a unique opportunity to reach out to our community! The Canadian Pacific holiday train will be rolling through Wauwatosa on Friday, December 9, and we've been asked to sing Christmas carols while waiting for the train to arrive. Singers of all ages and ability levels are welcome! We'll meet at 3:15 p.m. at St. John's School and will be done around 4:15 p.m. Click here to e-mail Adam Sipe for more information.

Soles for Jesus September Shoe Drive

To us, they’re often-forgotten items in our closets. To the people of Africa, they’re gifts of hope.  Each pair of shoes donated to Soles for Jesus and sent to Africa is accompanied by the message of eternal hope in Jesus, the greatest gift of all!  This September, we will again be collecting new and gently used shoes (men's, women's and children's - all sizes). Watch for collection boxes in the church narthex and at school beginning September 1.

Three Good Things That Will Happen in July

1. We will hold several open forums to discuss our potential campus expansion. Check out the display boards this weekend in the church narthex, and then join us at an open forum for more details. Open forums will be held on Sunday, July 10, at 9:15 a.m. (also broadcast online) and Tuesday, July 12, at 6:30 p.m.

2. Our teens will head out for their annual mission trip. This year's trip departs bright and early on Saturday, July 9, and takes us back to Living Promise Lutheran Church in Morristown, TN. Please keep our teens and chaperones in your prayers as they travel, help out with VBS, canvass, and have some fun along the way!

3. Our Board of Outreach will represent St. John's at the Tosa Farmers Market on Saturday, July 23. This is a great opportunity to connect with people who might otherwise never step foot in our church. If you're heading to the Farmers Market, stop by school to grab a free bottle of water and St. John's bag - and just to say hi!
