Three Good Things that Will Happen in February

1. We will kick off a new small-group Bible study program: Sermon Series Growth Groups. Designed to fit into your busy schedule (running for only four weeks at a time), Growth Groups are the perfect way to get involved in small-group Bible studyClick here for all the details and to register.

2. Our school will host an Early Childhood Open House. Designed for parents looking for a high-quality childcare, preschool, or kindergarten program, Open House is an opportunity to tour our facility and meet our teachers and staff members. If you know someone with young children, please invite them to attend!


3. We will hold midweek services as we embark on the season of Lent. Beginning February 26, please join us for worship at 3:30 and 6:45 p.m. as we once again walk with our Savior on his way to the cross and the empty tomb.

Two Good Things that Happened in January

1. We celebrated the Chinese New Year with a potluck on Saturday, January 25. This year also marks the 10th year of proclaiming Christ across the globe through our Pastor Yu's development of our school international program.

2. Three St. John's pastors, one called worker, and four lay leaders attended the Lutheran Leadership Conference in Chicago. In addition to plenary and breakout presentations on leadership, the conference featured a preview of the new WELS hymnal, set to be released in December 2021.

One Good Thing That You Might Not Know About

At the beginning of January, our church officers and Board members gathered for a Saturday morning leadership meeting. This annual meeting is intended to help equip these men to faithfully serve the members of St. John's and consists of both  theological and practical presentations and discussions.

Mission & Ministry Sunday

Sunday, January 26
Please join us for this special Sunday as we focus on the blessings God has bestowed upon St. John’s and how we as a congregation are striving to faithfully use those blessings in service to those around us. The “State of the Parish” presentation will replace our regular Sunday morning Bible study at 9:15 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

Registration is now open! To help you grow in your faith and deepen your walk with your Savior, St. John’s is offering a new small-group Bible study option: Sermon Study Growth Groups. Early Childhood Open House

Sunday, February 9
Our childcare, preschool and kindergarten Open House will be held from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. This is an opportunity for parents with children who will be 3, 4, or 5 by September 1 to visit the school and meet the staff. If you know of anyone interested in our preschool programs, please e-mail the school office for promotional materials and details. At 1:30 p.m., following the Open House, we will host an orientation meeting in the school lecture room on the lower level. This meeting is for parents who are interested in enrolling their child in our kindergarten program.

WLHS Gaining Ground Campaign

Volunteer Appreciation Event

Sunday, February 16
All St. John’s volunteers are invited downtown to the Grace Center at Grace Lutheran Church for Volunteer Appreciation Night from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. Formal invitations should be arriving in your mailbox this week or next. If you have volunteered at St. John’s in any way during the past year, please mark Sunday, February 16 on your calendar and make plans to attend this evening of food, fellowship, and fun.
