Mission & Ministry Weekend

Sunday, January 29
Please join us this weekend for this special Sunday as we focus on the blessings God has bestowed upon St. John’s and how we as a congregation are striving to faithfully use those blessings in service to those around us. The “State of the Parish” presentation will replace our regular Sunday morning Bible study at 9:15 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. If you're not able to attend in-person, the presentation can also be viewed (live or archived) at www.sjtosa.org/video

Bible Information Class

Beginning Sunday, February 19
Join us in the St. Matthew’s Room at 9:15 a.m. This course provides a general overview of the Bible, touches upon every major Christian doctrine, and supplies a solid understanding of what we confess and believe as a confessional Lutheran Church. Since it provides the foundation for a deeper relationship with God, we encourage both members and non-members to attend. To register to attend, visit www.sjtosa.org/BICregistration.

Sunday School Volunteers Needed

We need your help! We’re looking to add more volunteers to our Sunday school teaching staff. We especially need help with younger students, but volunteers willing to work with any age (K3-7th grade) are appreciated. This is an excellent opportunity for teens looking to earn mission trip hours or college students interested in education looking to gain experience. Sunday school runs on Sunday mornings from 9:15 – 10:15 a.m. at St. John’s school. If you’re interested or would like more information, please click here to contact Pastor Eric Schroeder or click here to contact Sunday School Superintendent Steve Wolf.

New Bible Study

Beginning Sunday, January 8
His is indeed “the greatest story ever told.” During this six-week Bible study, Pastor Joel Leyrer will focus on the life of Christ up until Holy Week using a topical rather than chronological approach. We will seek to know Jesus better through an examination of the land that he lived in, the claims he made about himself, the miracles he performed, the people that surrounded him, and the great events that define the Christian faith—all of which will renew and deepen our appreciation for the One who loves us with an everlasting love. Please join us at 9:15 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall, and click here for class materials.
