By Scripture Alone 2022

We received such good feedback on this year's By Scripture Alone daily Bible reading plan that we're doing it again next year - but with a slight tweak. Our 2022 reading plan will still feature three different daily readings five days per week. However, the second half of our Old Testament readings will be arranged more chronologically to help you get an idea of how these books of prophecy fit into the historical events of Israel and Judah. Click here for a reading schedule or pick one up in the church narthex.

New Support Group

Thursday, December 16
The holidays can be a difficult time, especially for those who are struggling with mental health issues, the loss of a loved one, a difficult relationship – and the list goes on. In light of these challenges, Pastor Steve Stern will be facilitating a support group at St. John’s. If you or a family member is dealing with cancer or other major health issues, loss and grief, or mental illness, please join us at 7:00 p.m. in the St. Matthew’s Room. We’ll take time to listen to each other, explore helpful spiritual truths, and generally provide assistance and support in a safe setting. Please feel free to bring a friend or neighbor who might benefit from being part of this group.

November's concert, under the theme "Shepherd Songs," includes hymn preludes and songs on tunes where texts speak about sheep and shepherds. Mandy Treder will be the soprano soloist. Mark your calendars and bring your friends to this free 45-mninute concert at 12:15 p.m. in the church sanctuary.

Three Good Things That Will Happen in November

1. We will begin a new Sunday morning Bible study. Pastor Joel Leyrer will lead us in a study of Philippians: a letter that reminds us that what we are and what we have transcends the inevitable stresses and strains that accompany our earthly pilgrimage. Click here for class materials and video.

2. We will begin our next school sports season. Volleyball, cross country, and soccer are over; it's time for basketball to start! Click here for a full calendar of all our school sports events.

3. We will celebrate Thanksgiving. Gathering with family and friends are wonderful traditions, but don't forget about gathering with your brothers and sisters in Christ for Thanksgiving worship! Please join us on Thanksgiving Eve at 6:45 p.m. or Thanksgiving Day at 10:00 a.m. for worship.
