School Christmas Un-decorating

It's not too late to volunteer! Join in the fun and help St. John's CES Committee un-decorate the school from 10:00 AM - Noon on Monday, January 2. By Scripture Alone: Daily Bible Reading

God has so much to say to you in his Word - are you looking for a new way to hear and study it?  Join St. John’s “By Scripture Alone” initiative to read through and discuss the entire Bible together in one year starting January 1, 2017.  We’ll be reading The Daily Bible, an engaging, chronologically arranged format of the NIV divided into 365 readings with helpful commentary to guide you through the amazing account of God’s grace.  Put what you learn at weekly worship and Bible study into the context of all of Scripture, and see if it doesn’t change your life!  Click here for details and to sign up.

New Year's Worship

Join us for New Year's Worship with Communion on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 5:30 PM or Sunday, January 1, 2017 at 8:00 and 10:30 AM. Because the holidays fall on our regular weekend worship schedule, we will have a singular New Year's worship service rather than separate New Year's Eve and New Year's Day services this year. We look forward to seeing you as we begin a new year in God's grace!

Children's Christmas Eve Service at WLHS

You are invited to join St. John’s students in grades K5-8 on Saturday, December 24 as they celebrate the birth of our Savior in word and song at 4:00 PM in the auditorium at Wisconsin Lutheran High School. Doors will open at 3:00 PM. A drop-off area for wheelchairs and the disabled will be available in front of the school on Glenview Ave.

WLHS Sacred Christmas Concert Rescheduled

Due to inclement winter weather conditions, the WLHS Sacred Christmas Concert was rescheduled for 3:00 PM on Sunday, December 18 in the WLHS auditorium with preservice music beginning at 2:30 PM. The concert, titled "How Great Our Joy!" will feature the A Cappella, Cantorei, and Freshman Choirs of WLHS, Inspiration, Jubilation Handbell Choir, Wisconsin Lutheran Children’s Choir, and numerous instrumentalists. Admission is free, and a freewill offering will be taken during the concert.

Surprise Christmas Gift

Merry Christmas from St. John's to our Mission Partner, Illumine Church! Contribute to the December council project to give the members of Illumine a surprise Christmas gift of support for their ministry in Rock Hill, SC. Illumine church has been the destination for the St. John’s teen mission trips over the past two summers, and Pastor Reeder was our mission festival speaker this year. Please use your green Above & Beyond envelope and make checks payable to St. John's.

Voters' Meeting

All voters and interested members of our congregation are encouraged to attend. a voters’ meeting on Monday, December 5, at 6:30 p.m. to elect church officers and board members for 2017. The voters will also act on a recommendation from the Church Council to change St. John’s school teacher, Mrs. Beth Wittig’s current one year call to a permanent call, call for a new second grade teacher (with Mrs. Alicia Campbell's moving), ratify new communion assistants, and receive an update from the Long Range Planning Committee.

Food Pantry Collection

Join St. John's 7th – 8th grade classes as they bring in food donations this weekend for the food pantry at Christ, St. Peter. Please bring your non-perishable items to the narthex and help a Milwaukee-area family in need. Cash donations also appreciated. You DO make a difference!
