Three Good Things That Will Happen in January

1. We will kick off a new Bible study. Pastor Joel Leyrer will be teaching a six-week study on "Knowing Jesus Better" - a topical look at the life of Christ up until Holy Week. By looking at Jesus' land, the claims he made about himself, his miracles and parables - and more - we'll seek to renew and deepen our appreciation for the One who loves us with an everlasting love.

2. We will hold our annual Mission & Ministry Sunday. This Sunday is always a special time to thank God for the blessings showered upon St. John's in the previous year and look ahead to our goals and plans for the coming year. Please join us on Sunday, January 29, for a special "State of the Parish" presentation at 9:15 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

3. We will again extend two upper-grade teacher calls. Please keep St. John's in your prayers as we await the unfolding of the Lord's will for our school - and please plan to attend our call meeting on Tuesday, January 10, at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

Two Good Things That Happened in December

1. Our Early Learning Center and grade school students shared the Christmas story through word and song. We welcomed a number of visitors at our Christmas services, and we are thankful for the many opportunities to share the message of our Savior's birth! All of our Christmas services can be viewed at www.sjtosa.org/video.

2. Our teens took a break from their school break for a gym and board game night. It's wonderful to have Pastor Joel Schwartz on board for our teen ministry, and we're looking forward to a number of events this spring! For more information on our upcoming teen events, check out www.sjtosa.org/youth.

This month, our Council Project is Wisconsin Lutheran High School - one of our closest ministry partners. To donate to the Council Project, visit www.sjtosa.org/giving.

Christmas Canvassing

Saturday, December 10
Help us share the good news of Jesus' birth with neighbors as we hang flyers and knock on doors to invite them to our Christmas services. We'll meet at church at 9:45 a.m. to prep briefly, then head out for an hour of planting gospel seeds. Afterward there will be free lunch for the group. Click here to e-mail Adam Goede if you plan to participate.
