"Risen" Movie Outing

Join us for a congregational outing to see the major motion picture “Risen” on Saturday, March 12 at 1:00 PM at the Marcus Ridge Theater in New Berlin. In the movie, Roman military tribune Clavius arrives at a crossroad when he's tasked to investigate the mystery of what happened to Jesus following the Crucifixion. His quest to disprove rumors of a risen Messiah makes him question his own beliefs and spirituality and discover the truth that he's been seeking. Following the showing, we will meet at church for a group discussion of the movie and the Biblical account. RSVP by signing up on the sheet in the narthex or by clicking here.  Tickets are $6.50 each and prepayment is required. Please make checks payable to St. John's and deliver them to the church office.

New Bible Class Begins Sunday, February 21

Please join us for a new Bible class beginning Sunday, February 21 at 9:15 AM in the Fellowship Hall. Professor John Schuetze from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary will lead our class on Angels and Demons. In this Bible study we’ll see God pull back the curtain a bit and give us a glimpse of the spiritual world. He warns us about the dark world of demons who are working hard to destroy our faith and prevent the spread of the gospel. He also reminds us that he sends his angels to watch over us and protect us from Satan’s schemes. Not to spoil the drama, but Satan loses and Jesus wins!

Click here for class handouts and materials.
