February Council Project - Jr. Choir Scholarships

The WELS Conference on Worship, Music, and the Arts will be held June 13-16, 2017 at Carthage College in Kenosha, WI. This conference, held every three years, offers opportunities for pastors, musicians, and congregational members to experience worship services and concerts, as well as grow professionally. Students in grades 5-8 are able to audition for participation in a 65-voice children’s choir which rehearses and sings at services and concerts throughout the conference. Several St. John’s students participated in this choir three years ago, and there are students from St. John’s school interested in auditioning for the choir this summer. The Council Project will provide scholarships to our students participating in this choir. The cost per student is $150 (there are nine interested in auditioning). Through our children’s participation in this choir, we are blessed to encourage and help train the next generation of worship leaders for our church and synod. May the Lord bless our efforts to his glory!
