Concessions Volunteers Needed

March 9-11 Weekend – Interested in getting to know more people from St. John's and working together to benefit programs and projects at St. John’s? Sportservice Volunteers will be staffing a concession stand for the “Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Sports Show” at the Wisconsin State Fair Park. Easter Sign-ups

Through Sunday, March 25 – Help us celebrate Easter with flowers and breakfast donations! Flowers to decorate the altar can be ordered from the table in the church narthex. Completed order forms (with payment included in the special flower envelope) may be placed in the offering basket at worship. Checks payable to St. John’s. Breakfast clean-up help is needed on Sunday, April 1. We’re also looking for donations of pastries, orange juice, milk and colorful hard-boiled eggs to be brought to the church kitchen on Saturday, March 31 by 11:00 am. Sign-up in the church narthex or click here.

Lutherans For Life

March Council Project – Lutherans For Life (LFL), seeks to “equip Lutherans to be Gospel-motivated voices for life” by providing unique and Gospel-centered, life-issue educational resources and training from a Lutheran perspective. LFL declares and defends the precious value of every human being and celebrates the many blessings of abundant and everlasting life for every human life, at each stage, in any state. March 3-4 Weekend - Share your blessings through the food pantry collection here at St. John's. Divine Calls Extended

Within the last two weeks, divine calls have been extended. Please keep the following staff members in your prayers as they now deliberate how and where the Lord may have them serve in the future:

  • Miss Megan Leverence received a divine call to serve as our fifth-grade teacher. Miss Leverence is currently serving in a hired position as the long-term, substitute teacher for Mrs. Beth Wittig for the remainder of this year.
  • Pastor Kyle Bitter received a divine call from St. John's Lutheran Church in Bay City, Michigan, to serve as an associate pastor, with emphasis on youth and outreach.
  • Mrs. Terry Buske received a divine call to serve as a primary grade teacher for St. Marcus Lutheran School in Milwaukee.

Eclectic Treats

Chinese New Year Potluck

Saturday, February 17 – St. John’s Chinese ministry will host a 2018 Chinese New Year celebration in the school commons with a potluck dinner at 5:00 pm. This spring festival celebrates family unity. Bring your favorite dishes to share. Following the potluck and Christian fellowship, join us for worship service at 7:00 pm.

Voters Call Meeting

Monday, February 5 – A special voters meeting is scheduled at 6:30 pm in the church fellowship hall to call a 5th grade teacher for St. John’s school, beginning with the 2018-19 school year. This position will replace Mrs. Wittig, who resigned from our ministry upon the birth of her son. All voters and interested members of our congregation are encouraged to attend.
