One Good Thing That You Might Not Know About

1. We celebrated Virtual Spirit Week. Our students aren't in school, but they still took the opportunity to show their school spirit! Pajama Day, Favorite Book Day, Build Something Day, Fresh Air Day, and School Spirit Day - all of these produced some fantastic pictures. Check them out on our Facebook page.

Devotional Resources

Most of our small group Bible studies are temporarily on hiatus, but there are many online options available for personal devotions. One wonderful resource is the WELS Daily Devotions. Intended to pair with the lessons from Sunday's worship, these short devotions pair up are a wonderful way to continue the focus of our Sunday services. Online Worship Notes

As we temporarily transition to online-only worship services, here are some helpful links and information:

  • Sunday worship services (8:00 a.m.), Bible study (9:15 a.m.), and Wednesday midweek Lent services (3:30 p.m.) can be viewed live here and will be archived for future viewing.
  • Worship service folders are available here and contain everything needed to follow along with the service.
  • The News & Notes is available here.
  • Options for online giving are available here. Offerings can also be dropped off at the church office during regular business hours.
  • Worship services can be viewed on a computer, a tablet, a smartphone, and even a smart TV. If you do not have the capability to view services online, please contact the church office to request a DVD of the worship service and/or a printed copy of the sermon.
  • Keep an eye on e-mail, our website, and our Facebook page for future updates as the situation continues to develop.
  • If you know someone who does not have access to e-mail or Facebook, please share this information with them.

Ministry Anniversary Celebration

Sunday, March 15
Please join us as we celebrate and give thanks for the faithful service of Dave and Dana Leyrer, both celebrating 25 years in the teaching ministry. A cake and punch reception will be held at 11:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. If you aren’t able to attend but would like to give a card or a gift, you can drop it off in the church or school office. You’re also encouraged to bring your favorite memory and/or a word of encouragement to share with Dave and Dana.

Spring Clean-up

Saturday & Sunday, March 14 & 15
Got spring fever? Like working outside? Adults and teens (no children, please), the Rooted & Mowing team needs your help! Our first garden tasks of the season will be pruning dormant shrubs and cleaning up leaves and trash throughout our church and school properties. Please bring gardening gloves and dress for the weather! If you'd like to help prune, please also bring hand or electric trimmers. Work days this weekend are Saturday from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. and Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Keep an eye out for future work days as well, and click here to e-mail Kurt and Kelly Kramer with any questions.

Easter Flowers

Through Friday, March 20
Help us celebrate Easter with flowers! Lilies, daffodils, tulips, and hydrangeas are available. Flower order forms are available in the narthex. A Christian's Journey with Depression

Thursday, March 12
Join us in the Fellowship Hall at 6:30 p.m. for an honest view of mental health from someone who knows the effects of depression. St. John’s member Rachel Bugenhagen will discuss the signs and symptoms of depression, how to help (and how not to help) someone who is struggling emotionally, and how mental illness affects Christians. Teens and young adults are especially invited; all are welcome.
