Pack'er Up Challenge

If you’re in the midst of Spring cleaning and are planning to make a trip to Goodwill, simply indicate our school name (St. John’s Lutheran School), city (Wauwatosa) and number of items donated on the slip provided to you by the Goodwill Donation Attendant, and the school with the greatest number of items donated will receive a visit from Donald Driver. It’s that easy! You will still get the slip for tax deduction purposes. Just be sure to count the number of items in your bag/box before you go. It won’t take any extra time. If you have items to donate and you are unable to make it to a Goodwill location, you may drop off your items at school by Friday, April 28th. A parent volunteer will make “drop-offs” at Goodwill, if needed. Be sure to have your items counted with your name attached so we can get the receipt to you for tax deduction purposes. For more information as well as periodic updates and official rules, click here. Thanks!

Easter Vigil at Nain, West Allis

Vigil of Easter Service: In the ancient church the celebration of the Lord’s Easter triumph was anticipated in a service of watching and waiting called the “Great Vigil of Easter.” Beginning at nightfall, the faithful gathered in darkness broken by the light of the Paschal Candle to hear of the deliverance of God at Easter prefigured by the Flood, by the Exodus, and in the voices of the prophets. Christian Worship: Occasional Services provides an evangelical, Lutheran version of the Great Vigil which will be celebrated at Nain Lutheran Church (1665 S. 57th St., West Allis) on the night before Easter, Saturday, April 15th at 8:00 PM.  The wider WELS community of Milwaukee is cordially invited to attend this special service of anticipation and joy.
