Resuming In-Person Worship

Beginning May 30 & 31
We are thankful to be able to gather once again as a family of believers in our house of worship beginning this weekend, May 30 & 31. In one sense, this represents a return to normalcy that many of us have been eagerly awaiting. However, as we are all well aware, our nation is still contending with the coronavirus outbreak. Therefore, in another sense, a full return to normalcy in worship is not possible at this time. In particular, advance registration will be required for worship services for the time being. Please click here for more information and details, and click here to register for May 30 & 31 worship.

Sunday Morning Bible Study: Masks of God

Beginning Sunday, May 31
The doctrine of vocation uniquely answers the ancient question “What is the good life?” God frees the Christian from the burden of self-justification through Christ’s redeeming work. He then puts on Christians as if they were masks in order to love the world. The ordinariness of life is made extraordinary, even divine. God frees the Christian and then uses the Christian. Dr. Berg explores the notions of the good life, shalom, flourishing, and happiness to show that in vocation the Christian finds his highest calling, the truly good, flourishing, and happy life. Click here for class materials and video. Please note this is an online-only Bible study.

Volunteers Needed

As we resume in-person worship, we need volunteers to serve in a variety of areas: ushers, greeters, AV operators, and facility sanitizing crew members. All of these positions will only take an hour (or less) on Saturday night or Sunday morning, and none require shaking hands or being in close proximity with other worshipers. If you are willing and able to serve, or if you would like more information, please click here to contact the church office.

Resuming In-Person Worship

Beginning May 30 & 31
As restrictions on in-person gatherings continue to expire, the St. John's pastors and church leadership have thoughtfully and prayerfully been looking at various scenarios for returning to in-person worship. Since the current restrictions from Wauwatosa will expire tonight and no further city-wide order will be issued at this time, we will resume our regular schedule of in-person worship services the weekend of May 30 & 31. Please click here for more information and details.

St. John's Help Fund
In Galatians 6:10, God directs us: “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” For this reason, St. John’s maintains a Help Fund to provide emergency assistance to those within our congregation who find themselves in need due to unforeseen or unplanned circumstances. Click here for more information on ways to give electronically.

What I Most Appreciate

During this time of being physically apart, we want to hear what you most appreciate about St. John's! Today's quote comes from Mike & Suzanne Swenson: "We most appreciate all the 'angels of mercy' that are part of our congregation. It is truly a blessing to have so many members who offer cards, food, and support to other members going through a variety of situations. Their kindness means more than they will ever know." What do you most appreciate about St. John's? Click here to share your thoughts.
