Finishing Strong

Council Project of the Month – Our goal is to finish the current budget year strong. Just like a race, we are coming to the end of our annual ministry plan which closes June 30. We prayerfully ask for your Above & Beyond gifts to finish strong with our current ministry plan. Both our church and school programs are unified under one plan and budget. Your financial support helps to ensure the strength of all our programs! If you’d like to contribute to this project, please use your green Above & Beyond envelope and indicate “Council Project” or “Finish Strong.” Checks should be made payable to St. John’s.

Forgiveness: The Family Business for God's Children

Begins Sunday, June 17 – Jesus’ call for us to be forgivers is unmistakable and urgent. However, it’s also frequently misunderstood and misapplied: people who have been unjustly harmed by someone often think they’re supposed to forget about it and treat that person like nothing is wrong, and people who struggle to forgive often think they’re going to get sent to hell. The truth is that forgiving is a powerful gift God has given to people who have been unjustly harmed, not a threat or a horrible burden. Join us for this Bible study series, led by Pastor Phil Merten from Wisconsin Lutheran Institutional Ministry, at 9:15 am in the Fellowship Hall.

We provide a Christ-centered environment where your child will experience a safe, loving, and happy atmosphere. Our childcare is open year-round from 7:00 am – 5:45 pm. Information can be found by clicking here, sharing a St. John’s brochure (located on the narthex table) or contacting Childcare.

Lawn Mowing

The turf is finally green and that means the hum of lawn mowers and buzz of trimmers. St. John’s relies on volunteers to mow the lawns at church and school. We need a large group of volunteers (at least 12) to make this happen. With a group this size each person mows maybe 1 or 2 times a month. This volunteer service saves the church a great deal of money by not paying a lawn service to do this work. All are welcome from teens to retirees, men and women. St. John’s has the needed equipment, and instructions will be given on use of the lawn mowers, if needed. The Rooted & Mowing Team coordinates the lawn mowing schedule. If interested, or if you have any questions, please contact Kurt and Kelly Kramer (414-475-9071 or click here).
