"Family Reunion" Weekend

Saturday & Sunday, October 19 & 20
Hebrews 2:11 states: “Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family.” To reflect this biblical concept, St. John’s has designated October 19 and 20 as “Family Reunion” weekend. Our goal is to have 100% of our members worship with us during one of our weekend services. A fellowship hour with special refreshments and a display of “family heirlooms” will replace the normal Sunday morning Bible study from 9:15 – 10:15 a.m. Please make a special effort to join your brothers and sisters in Christ for worship – and perhaps reach out to someone you’ve lost touch with or haven’t seen in a while – as we celebrate our membership in the St. John’s family of faith.

By Scripture Alone Discussion Forum

Thursday, October 3
We’re continuing to learn from the apostle Paul in our “By Scripture Alone” readings. As the most prolific New Testament writer (penning nearly half the books), Paul focuses on both spiritual teachings and practical applications in his epistles. Please join us from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall to discuss what we've read so far. Questions or topics for consideration can be submitted in advance to Pastor Eric Schroeder. In addition to the questions you submit, we'll look ahead to the remainder of the New Testament and discuss the plans for By Scripture Alone in 2020.

Thursday Bible Study

Beginning Thursday, September 12
Immanuel. Messiah and Christ. Lord and King. We know those names refer to Jesus, but what exactly does each name especially emphasize about his place in our lives? This study will remind us of what we already know and reinforce the deeply relevant truths contained in the names Scripture attaches to our Savior. Video clips will take us to the places where Jesus walked and help provide a context for our discussion. Please join us for this Bible study led by Pastor Schroeder at 10:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. All are welcome!
