Two Good Things That Happened in September

1. We resumed many of our typical fall activities: Bible study, board and committee meetings, school music and sports. Although these activities may look different this fall, we are still blessed to be carrying out ministry at St. John's. Thank you for your prayers as we continue our efforts to spread the Gospel even in the midst of our current challenges!

2. We gathered together for Unity Sunday. This year, we were doubly blessed to rejoice both in our unity in Christ and in the total elimination of the debt from building our present school facility. Thanks be to God for these gifts!

One Good Thing That You Might Not Know About

1. Our school children are still edifying our worship services through music. The need for social distancing, combined with the size of our balcony, does not allow them to sing live during the worship service. But we are able to pre-record them! Keep listening for our grade school students in upcoming worship services, and thank our school teachers who are making this singing possible!

Soles for Jesus

October 1-18
Please save your gently used shoes to impact the lives of people in Africa through our annual fall shoe collection October 1 – 18. We are looking for shoes for men, women, and children. Watch for collection boxes at church and school, and please bring shoes in bags rather than in boxes. If you wish to make a monetary donation to defray the cost of shipping to Africa, mark your checks “Soles for Jesus” and make them payable to St. John’s. Questions can be directed to Yvonne Quint.

Apocalypse Now - And Then

Beginning this Sunday, September 20
Please join us as we kick off a new Sunday morning Bible study! Plagues, civil unrest, false prophets, natural catastrophes, tension between church and state; these are all contemporary issues that trouble many Christians. They’re also nothing new. But are they signs of the end? Jesus’ prophecies of the end times and the book of Revelation provide reliable insight as to the best of times, the worst of times, and whether the end is near. Click here to register to attend in person, and click here for class video and handouts.

Bible Information Class

Beginning Sunday, September 27
This course provides a general overview of the Bible, touches upon every major Christian doctrine, and supplies a solid understanding of what we confess and believe as a confessional Lutheran Church. Since it provides the foundation for a deeper relationship with God, we encourage both members and non-members to attend. Click here to register.
