Dear Christian Parents,

Gradelink

The roll-out of our new Student Information System (Gradelink) is just days away. We will be using Gradelink in the next couple of months to re-enroll current students who will be returning to St. John’s next year as well as enroll new students for next year. While we have generally had an early re-enrollment for preschool and kindergarten, this year we will also be asking students in grades 1-7 to re-enroll over the next couple of months. To help ease into this, let me try to explain a little bit about how this is going to work.

In the next few days, all families eligible to return (currently 7th grade or younger) should receive an email from Gradelink. This email will contain a link to the re-enrollment page on Gradelink. It will also contain your unique username and password to be used with Gradelink. Once you log in, you should be able to begin the re-enrollment process. We have already entered some information about our students and their families. Please check that for accuracy and add any other required information. Your information will be saved so that in future years all you will need to do is review the information for changes.

You will also be asked to sign some online forms. These are forms that have traditionally been submitted at the time of Registration in August. We’re hoping that you enjoy the convenience of doing all of this online this year. It may feel a little odd filling these forms out in January rather than August, but hopefully it will be painless!

Another big change will be receiving charges and making payments. All charges and payments for tuition, hot lunch, extended care, etc. will be made through Gradelink. You will be able to set up automatic payments from your bank account, and you will also have the opportunity to make payments with a credit card. Please note that there will be a fee that you will need to pay if you decide to use a credit card. Your Gradelink account will also show you the balance in your account. You should be able to see a record of each charge and each payment that you have made.

If you do not receive an email from Gradelink in the next week or so, please let me know, and I’ll be sure to send you the necessary information to get logged in. As with any new process, there will be issues. Please be patient with us as we work through those issues. From what we’ve seen and heard about Gradelink, I think you’re going to like it!

Open House

Our annual open house is scheduled from about 11:30 – 1:00 on Sunday, February 7. If you know someone who is looking for a school or preschool for their children, please encourage them to attend! Due to COVID restrictions, there is a sign-up for families to visit our K2, K3, K4 and K5 classrooms. Click here to find that sign-up page.

Please also remember that it’s important for our current families to get registered for K2, K3, K4 and K5 especially, so that we know how much space is available for new students.

End of Second Quarter

Tomorrow is the end of the second quarter of this school year. First of all, let’s give thanks to God for answering our prayers – allowing us to meet with our students in person five days per week for this first semester! Also, look for report cards to be coming home next week Thursday. Remember, you have access to your child’s grades on PowerSchool at any time. We pray for God’s continued blessings on St. John’s and our families for the second semester!

Divine Call News

Please continue to keep Mrs. Rindfleisch and Pastor Schroeder in your prayers as they consider the calls that are before them. Mrs. Rindfleisch has been called to Westside Christian in Middleton and Pastor Schroeder has been called to Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN. If you have thoughts about their ministries at St. John’s, please feel free to contact them!

Blessings,

Dan
