Dear Christian Parents,

This past weekend, families around the country celebrated Mother’s Day. Every single mother deserves the special treatment that she hopefully received last Sunday (or whenever your family was able to celebrate). I’m extremely thankful for the mothers of our St. John’s students! Our kids have moms that love them so much that they want to spend eternity in heaven with them! At St. John’s Lutheran Church and School, we want that, too! Our teachers share the good news of a Savior from sin with our students every single day. We are partners with you in that very special work. May God bless that partnership, and may God bless all mothers!

Farewell for Mrs. Campbell

Mrs. Leslie Campbell has been a part of our St. John’s ministry for 10 years as K4 teacher and for many years before that as an aid! She has touched the lives of literally hundreds of young people and their parents in our preschool and child care over the years. It has been such a blessing to have Mrs. Campbell and her family at St. John’s. It will be a big change next year without Mrs. Campbell here, but we’re thankful for the opportunity that she has at Peace Lutheran Church and School in Hartford. Mrs. Campbell will be teaching kindergarten at Peace starting in August. We wish her God’s richest blessings in her new ministry! To celebrate Mrs. Campbell’s time here and wish her farewell, we will be having a cake and coffee reception on Sunday, May 16, after the second service in the fellowship hall (church basement) at about 11:45. We will have a chance to wish our best for Mrs. Campbell and her family. If you can’t join us on the 16th, please share your own personal best wishes in the way that you feel is best! Thanks for all that you’ve done for us at St. John’s, Leslie! May God continue to bless your work!

Graduation

Our eighth grade graduation will be on Wednesday, May 26, at 6:00 PM. The families of the 8th graders are welcome to join us. We’ll reserve one pew per graduate for the families. After the service, we will be showing the memories slideshow. There will be no formal reception. Congratulations to our twenty-one eighth graders! We wish you God’s richest blessings as you leave St. John’s and begin high school next year!

Crusader Olympics

I’m eagerly awaiting my first Crusader Olympics! If this is your first or second year here (no Crusader Olympics due to COVID last year), I hope you’re considering joining us to see what all of the excitement is about! All students in K5 through eighth grade should report directly to the Wisconsin Lutheran College track (Raabe Stadium). The address is 1401 N Swan Blvd, Wauwatosa, WI. People should arrive by 8:00 for the opening devotion which will begin at 8:15. All students should be picked up by 2:00. Thanks to all of the parents who have volunteered to help out! You should have received your assignment from Mr. Leyrer. Don’t forget to bring a lunch!

Lau Fund

Members of St. John’s Lutheran Church who have students attending Wisconsin Lutheran High School or St. John’s Lutheran Elementary School may be eligible for financial aid. If you think you might need some assistance for tuition next year, please complete a Lau Fund application. The Lau Fund application form is found here. We’d love to receive your Lau Fund application by June 30, 2021. If you have trouble with the link, please let me know and we’ll print a copy for you in the office.

Gradelink

All returning students should have completed re-enrollment for the 2021-2022 school year through Gradelink. If you have not already done so, please complete the re-enrollment. You should have received several emails about Gradelink. If you can’t find them, please let me know. Perhaps we need to update your email address. Please help us get the rest of our students re-enrolled for next school year. This will replace the registration day that normally occurs at the beginning of August.

2021-2022 Back to School Night/Orientation

The back to school night/orientation for the 2021-2022 school year will be on Sunday, August 22, at 6:00. More details will be coming, but please set this time aside. We hope that all of our school families will be able to join us! Also keep in mind that the first day of school next year is Tuesday, August 24.

Blessings,

Dan
