Pastor Eric Schroeder

Pastor Eric Schroeder was born and grew up in Appleton, WI. He attended Fox Valley Lutheran High School in Appleton, graduating in 1999 and Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN, graduating in 2003. He continued his ministry studies at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, WI, graduating in 2007.

Upon graduating from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, Pastor Schroeder was assigned to Bloomington Living Hope Lutheran Church, serving dual campuses in Bloomington and Shakopee, MN. He accepted a call to St. John’s, Wauwatosa, WI in August 2013.

Pastor Schroeder serves as the discipleship pastor at St. John’s. He is responsible for a comprehensive “cradle to grave” discipleship program. To this end, he oversees several key areas of Christian education: Sunday school, confirmation class, youth ministry, and adult Bible study. Although his ministry extends through all areas of the congregation, Pastor Schroeder works primarily with the Boards of Education and Discipleship. He is also a trained facilitator in the Prepare/Enrich premarital and marriage counseling program.

In 2004, Pastor Schroeder married Bethany. They have been blessed with two children, Sofia and Sidney. He enjoys spending time with family and getting outdoors into nature by hunting and fishing.

Pastor Schroeder is regularly humbled by the opportunity to witness God working so powerfully in people’s lives – baptisms, weddings, funerals, other key events – and every other time in between. He continues to work toward providing St. John’s members with resources and models for a meaningful devotional life. His vision and prayer for St. John’s is that every member would view their spiritual life not just as an hour or two commitment on Sunday mornings, but rather as a life of constant spiritual growth.
