  • Junior Choir

St. John's Lutheran School has a long tradition of children's choirs. Throughout its history, St. John's has offered children a variety of opportunities to use their musical abilities in praising God. In addition to classroom singing, children in grades 5-8 may join the St. John's children's choir. This choir will sing during the church services throughout the school year.

Junior choir practices during the school year. If you would like more information about the children's choir, please contact Mandy Treder, director.

    Junior Handbell Choir

St. John’s has been privileged to have a junior handbell choir since 2000. The choir is comprised of students in our 8th grade. We do not have formal ‘tryouts’ and previous musical experience is not necessary.

The junior handbell choir rehearses once a week for one hour. In addition, the students are responsible for taking care of our 4-octave set of Malmark handbells.  This includes setting up, cleaning, polishing, and putting away these wonderful musical instruments.

Handbell choir is a great learning experience for students in this age group, but it requires patience, concentration, and commitment from the members.  If you would like more information about the junior handbell choir, please contact Julie Handeland or the school office.
