School Fundraising
St. John's participates in a number of initiatives designed to raise funds for our school programs.  Please browse through the opportunities below to support our school.

    Scrip Gift Cards
  • St. John’s participates in the Scrip Gift Card program. Purchase gift cards at face value for restaurants, department stores, grocery stores, gas stations and many others in a variety of denominations! Choose gift cards for yourself or as a gift. A portion of each purchase supports St. John's school.

Register at www.shopwithscrip.com for a complete listing of available cards, including current specials. (St. John's enrollment code is C5FB311729461). Order directly through the website or send your order to the school office. You may also download an order form here.

For more information, please contact the school office. Thank you for your support.

    Box Tops for Education
  • Box tops for Education Logos from General Mills cereals, Yoplait yogurt, fun Fruits, and other General Mills products can be cut out and turned in to the school or church office.  St. John's School then receives ten cents for each logo. We earn about $300 per year from this project.

    Campbell's Soup Labels
  • Campbell's soup has discontinued their "Labels for Education" program and will no longer be printing the logo on their products. Logos may still be collected until the current supply has run out.

Please save the front panel from Campbell Soup cans and deliver them to the box in the church office or to the school office. Labels are turned in at the end of the school year and the staff is able to choose merchandise for the school from a Campbell's catalog.  Over the years, we have received many items through this program, such as videos, carts, electric staplers and pencil sharpeners, and even a television set!

A special thank you to Bob and Vicki Schaller who faithfully trim, bundle and count these labels for us.

    Recycling Program
  • St. John’s participates in the Office Max recycling program.  We receive a credit for every item that we collect and send to Office Max for recycling. This credit can be used to purchase office and classroom supplies for the school. We currently collect used ink and toner cartridges. Please help us to collect these items and get the word out so others can also save them for us.  Thank you for your support.
    Kohl's Cares for Kids
  • Kohl's Cares for Kids Cards are an easy way to raise funds for our school.  Cards are purchased at face value and are available in denominations of $10, $25, $50, and $100.  The cards can be used for purchases, as gift cards, and to make payments on your existing Kohl's credit card account.  St. John's purchases these cards at a reduced rate, thereby creating a profit of 5%.

You may purchase these cards by stopping by or by calling the school office at (414) 258-4214 to place your order.

    Target
  • Target stores donate a percentage of your credit card purchases if you designate St. John's Lutheran School as the recipient.  To sign up, stop at the Target service counter or give them a call.  Have your credit card number handy when you call or stop in. Encourage family and friends to designate St. John's Lutheran School as their charity of choice.

    Aluminum Cans
  • Aluminum cans collected for school will go into the School Improvement Fund to buy non-budgeted items for the school. Mr. Joe Pappalardo has faithfully taken the cans in for recycling.  Thank You!  Please bring your cans in plastic bags and place them next to the aluminum storage shed in the church parking lot until a permanent collection location can be found.

    Sportservice Volunteers
  • During the past several years, St. John's has participated with the Sportservice Volunteer Opportunity.

This program consists of a group of people from St. John's who work together in concession stands during Brewers games as well as other special events held at Miller Park. We have also had the opportunity to staff the large infield concession stand for races at State Fair Park.

The biggest benefit of this opportunity has been the Christian fellowship shared as we work together for a common goal!  The extra funds earned have been the added bonus!

All money earned is distributed to a variety of school and church projects.

Through the efforts of this volunteer group, we have purchased gymnasium bleachers, an electronic scoreboard, an office computer, boys’ and girl’s basketball uniforms, wrestling uniforms, cheerleading uniforms, basketball riggings and backboards, volleyball standards, handbell supplies, a defibrillator  (and training), a floor buffer, a laminator/binder station, 1 classroom TV, 7 classroom DVD/VCR combos, and protective floor waxing for the gym.

In addition, funds were also available for the start-up of St. John’s Spirit Club, WELS Synod-wide Advertising Campaign (2 years), advertising at the Wisconsin Athletic Club, library wish list, teacher wish lists, school Christmas decorations, support for “Birthday Party for Jesus” and “Discovery Day”, and outdoor play-area painting and equipment.

We were also able to purchase a duplicating machine (used by the church and school offices), a computer security filter for the school, classroom computers, a security monitoring recorder, and, of course, annual pizza/sub parties for the volunteers and their families.

Grants to the Building Expansion Fund and the Lau Fund were also made available and funds helped with the cost of a student cochlear implant.

The St. John’s Crusader (school logo) which now watches over our state-of-the-art gymnasium was also funded by the Sportservice Volunteer Opportunity.

WOW!  The results of this opportunity can be seen every day at our school!

A special thank you goes out to all of the dedicated volunteers who make this a fun and worthwhile opportunity.

If you are interested in helping with this opportunity, please email JoAnn at the school office or call (414) 258-4214.
